AMA SA hosts IMGs at the Women's and Children's Hospital
AMA SA recently hosted an event for international medical graduates (IMGs) at the Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH), bringing together doctors navigating the transition to practising medicine in Australia.
The evening was hosted by Dr Davinder Gill, a consultant at the WCH and newly appointed member of the AMA SA Council. Attendees heard practical information on working in Australia from AMA SA partners Doctors' Health Fund, Hood Sweeney and MDA National.
A highlight of the evening was a first-hand account from AMA SA President A/Prof Peter Subramainiam about his own experience as an international student studying medicine in Australia. His perspective offered attendees a direct and relatable view of the pathway ahead.
Events like this are part of AMA SA's ongoing commitment to supporting IMGs in South Australia, connecting them with the people, partners, and resources to make the transition easier.
