Important: New Website, membership platform and payment changes this month

AMA is investing in improved member services with the launch of a new website and membership platform this September. Here's what you need to know.

Portal outage: 4–10 September

To complete the transition, the current member portal will be unavailable from close of business Friday 4 September until Thursday 10 September.

During this period, you won't be able to log in to:

  • update your membership details
  • manage payment information
  • access your membership account information and benefits.

If you have an urgent account update, please complete it before Friday 4 September. Fees List and MJA access are not affected and will continue as normal.

No action is required from you. Your membership remains active and your benefits are unaffected throughout the transition — only the portal is temporarily unavailable, not your membership.

Logging in to the new portal

When the new portal opens on 10 September, you'll be asked to complete a self-service password reset before logging in for the first time. Your username stays the same, but your existing password won't carry across. Instructions will be available when the portal opens.

A note on security: AMA SA will never email or call you asking for your password. If you receive a message asking you to confirm your login details during this period, don't act on it — contact us. When you're ready to reset your password, go to ama.com.au directly rather than following a link from an unexpected email.

Changes to payment processing

As part of the new platform, AMA SA is also moving payment processing from our current Stripe service to a new Stripe payment service managed by AMA Limited.

From September 2026, this means:

  • Direct debit payers: no change for now. Direct debit will continue to be processed under AMA SA in the short term, and your bank statement description will remain AMA SA.
  • Credit card payers: your payment description will change from AMA SA to AMA Ltd.
  • Stripe's Direct Debit Service Agreement is available here.

This change relates only to how payments are processed. AMA SA continues to manage all member services, handle membership enquiries, and receive the full benefit of your membership fees. Your membership, benefits, and entitlements remain unchanged.
